Four years on from the sensational album "Els Nous Cants de la Sibiŀla", Ósserp are back. This colossal beast of Catalan death grind delivers "Les Homilies del Desengany", an EP that, in the band’s own words, draws inspiration from “the sounds of brutal death metal from the late 90s and early 2000s, particularly bands such as Deeds Of Flesh, Inveracity, Disavowed, and Devourment”.
With cover artwork by Indonesian illustrator MAFXII (The Acacia Strain, Hulder, Epicardiectomy…), the release also includes guest vocals from Gusi (Graveyard, Sanctuarium, Morbid Flesh…), Anton from Mutilated Judge, and Jordi from Eight Ounces.
Red and white splatter vinyl 12” LP. Limited to 100 copies.
[PRE-ORDER] Shipping will begin on 9 November (official EP release date: 13 November).
Catatonic doom and death doom in a split that won’t take long to sell out. All in Catalan, a land that doesn’t stop releasing great and dismal material. A fuckin’ must!
Marasme present “Fel”, an album that, unlike its predecessors, does not come from the brain or the heart, but from the viscera, the nausea, the anguish. Seven years later, the band raise their bet with a much more intense and darker album, with six songs created in a slow fire with an aftertaste of vengeance. Here the influences of Altar Of Plagues, Omega Massif, Fall Of Efrafa, or Sólstafir, are diluted in the black magma of five musicians used to rowing in solitude and against the current.
Noise and fury, despair and affliction, mourning and survival instinct. “Fel” concentrates the most basic ingredients of one of the most personal Balearic extreme music bands, and all this with a mastering by Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna).
Avern’s death metal, infused with punk rock influences, hits considerably harder on this 2023 album. It has everything that makes this band a respected force to be reckoned with, one that doesn’t mess about.
